Sony Ericsson Hybride - Walkman with CyberShot

One of those numerous Sony Ericsson fans has come up with a concept design of a mobile phone that the maker could launch some time in the future. Apparently, this hybrid represents his golden dream, a phone where Walkman and Cybershot come together, with touch-sensitive controls all around. As the "developer" claims, the design builds upon the Sony Ericsson W960i, and in fact this is a dual-face phone, with Walkman and CyberShot (inspired by the K850i) sit on opposite sides.
It is called the Sony Ericsson H1i, where "H" stands for Hybrid and comes equipped with a 3-inch widescreen touch-sensitive display capable of 480x270-pixel resolution and 7,2 Mpix camera with flash. And basically this handset has no buttons, at least in the form we have used to see them - all numbers and letters are displayed on the backlighted screen.

Sony Ericsson Sliding P3i Concept

The rumors about Sony Ericsson P3i smartphone has been flying around the net for a while now.Don’t hold your breath for SE P3i next generation smartphone being announced anytime soon. But I’m sure that Sony Ericsson is has started to work on their next gen smartphone.

I have no idea whether these pictures come from the drawing boards of Sony Ericsson or are the demonstration of design and Photoshop skills by a creative SE fan, but overall concept of Sony Ericsson P3i looks good

This thing is definitely a looker. If SE manages to bring us a P3i that looks like this concept, I am sure it’s going to be a hit.

iPhone flaw lets hackers take over

A team of computer security consultants say they have found a flaw in Apple's wildly popular iPhone that allows them to take control of the device.

The researchers, working for Independent Security Evaluators, a company that tests its clients' computer security by hacking it, said that they could take control of iPhones through a Wi-Fi connection or by tricking users into going to a Web site that contains malicious code. The hack, the first reported, allowed them to tap the wealth of personal information the phones contain.

A spokeswoman for Apple, Lynn Fox, said, "Apple takes security very seriously and has a great track record of addressing potential vulnerabilities before they can affect users."
"We're looking into the report submitted by ISE and always welcome feedback on how to improve our security," she said.

There is no evidence that this flaw had been exploited or that users had been affected.

Miller, a former employee of the National Security Agency who has a doctorate in computer science, demonstrated the hack to a reporter by using his iPhone's Web browser to visit a Web site of his own design.

Once he was there, the site injected a bit of code into the iPhone that then took over the phone. The phone promptly followed instructions to transmit a set of files to the attacking computer that included recent text messages--including one that had been sent to the reporter's cell phone moments before--as well as telephone contacts and e-mail addresses.

Motorola Adding a PEBL To The ROKR Lineup

After adding music to the RAZR, SLVR, and most recently the RIZR, a source has confirmed that Motorola will soon announce a PEBL style clamshell for music. The ROKR U9 follows in the footsteps of the Z6 by taking on the ROKR model name and appears to add an external color display with music controls similar to the RAZR2 to the curvy model.
So far no other details are known about the handset, though one picture clearly shows mini-USB headphones, so it appears to lack a 3.5mm jack, just like the Z6. With the U9 a clear pattern has also emerged in Moto's naming conventions. Confirming that the each letter represents a form factor and that the 9 indicates a high-end model line that will dominate Moto's lineup.

Motorola Z9 Leaked Pics

Motorola has been oh so sneaky with the handsets as of late, and we've hit the jackpot. Motorola's Z9 is apparently a new slider phone which bears resemblance to the RAZR 2 series. Oh, and get this — it's AT&T branded with an AT&T browser key, and even AT&T firmware. Some quick specs include 3G (which was not working on our unit), a 2 megapixel camera with flash, Motorola Synergy OS, Live Video Share, and expandable memory via microSD card.

The construction is real good on this, and that's not saying much; it's an early prototype we scored from deep, deep down inside Moto HQ. The buttons are a little stiff, but again — early unit. The Motorola Z9 also takes cues from AT&T's upcoming Motorola V9 handset. If there is anything you want to know specifically about the new Motorola Z9, drop us a comment, and we'll check it out. Nokia N95 firmware update

Nokia released the new firmware for N95 With just a month since last update, the new N95 firmware update will update your Nokia N95 to v12.0.0.13. One of the N95 has posted his observation on the changes brought by the new update

Changes in new firmware:

  • The phone is faster
  • Loading the gallery seems to be quicker
  • A-GPS support
  • Camera sharpness bug fixed
  • Quicker at receiving GPS signals and locking
  • Changes in web browser - one of them is that you now have to hold OK-button to get the menu to pop up
  • This is rather irritating - some times the keypad doesn’t respond! Especially when in web browser and MSN
  • New icon for apps (noticed this because MSN application logo and F-Secure logo has changed to a default icon - so something must have changed!)
  • When editing a form and then repressing it, the cursor will start at the beginning of the text and not at the end as before. Quite annoying, I think…
  • I think there are new icons in Messaging, but I’m not sure
  • YouTube and streaming videos in general is still not working on my phone

Vertu Ascent Ti Receives FCC's Approval

Vertu will bring another expensive luxury mobile phone out on the market for those who appreciate this kind of devices. Vertu Ascent Ti has just been FCC approved, which means that it should be available for an expensive purchase in no time now.

Vertu Ascent Ti is one of the most expensive models of phones and manages to pack some statement elements to let people know just how special it is. The handset comes with leather and steel keys with jeweled bearings. That may not be the diamonds that Vertu has gotten us used to until now, but still manages to show some high class for what it's worth.

This new phone is one of the first which also adds some high technology performances to the refined handcraft that Vertu has brought with previous phone models. Until now, most of this type of releases managed to bring especially expensive materials and technology for providing high class devices.

Vertu Ascent Ti will be available in colors of black, brown, solid red, orange and azure. Another special feature about this cell phone is that it will come with sapphire crystal screen to match the steel keys.

Connectivity will be available through Bluetooth and modem support. One impressive aspect is that it will also come with 3G capabilities, which adds some value on the technical part too, for this phone. Another appealing thing is that Vertu Ascent Ti will also have a 3 megapixel camera which stands above the average performances coming from most cellulars.

Price is what makes this range of mobile phones so appreciated. The Vertu Ascent Ti model should be available quite soon, although the exact time for that has not been revealed yet. The price is still unknown, although we should expect a 4 digit sum, as the value of this phone is measured in how much people are willing to pay for extreme luxury.
